Steel Slide is designed as an alternative to higher priced pre-assembled slides and bridges the gap for those who want a "do it yourself" slide.

With Steel Slide, there is no need to spend countless hours looking for parts and trying to use items that were never designed to be used in the bed of a truck in order to save hundreds of dollars. With a Steel Slide kit you have everything you need for a very strong and easy to use slide and still save those hundreds of dollars !

If you can screw in ten bolts in about ten minutes, you have a slide that functions the same and rivals the pre-assembled units for far less money. All you have to add is one piece of 3/4" plywood from your local home center, they'll even cut it to size for you at no charge.

Steel Slide is manufactured from strong structural steel, has sealed ball bearing rollers (already installed), locks in closed and open positions, in the open position it extends about 40". All brackets are already welded in place and the Chevy Avalanche and Caddilac EXT standard model has room underneath to safely store two bed cover panels safely out of harms way while still being able to operate the slide for those times when you need to haul taller items. Our "Low Profile" model offers the maximum vertical clearance possible.

The Steel Slide does NOT rest on the tailgate, it doesn't even touch it. The upper slide rolls on 14 sealed roller bearings and covers approximately 99.9% of the cargo area.

Once you have added one piece of plywood and bolted the kit together it's ready to go to work hauling camping gear, coolers, golf clubs, groceries, tools, ETC.

Steel Slide quickly and easily secures into your Chevy Avalanche or Caddilac EXT in about five minutes using our patent pending design where it is not nescessary to remove any bolts or brackets from the Avalanche/EXT, simply hook our hold downs onto the Avalanche's/EXT's cargo ties and give them several turns with a wrench and the main lower frame of the slide is pressed down tightly to the bed of the truck. That's it.

And you don't have to stop at just the plywood, you'll probably want to put on some indoor/outdoor carpet. You can also add your own design on top with storage compartments, dividers, locking compartments, or anything you want. The point is, now that you don't have to spend all that time looking for things to use to build it from scratch (and still not be as strong), you can start using it right away and use the hundreds you've saved for the other things you want to do.
